Broadsword Requirements

Working for Broadsword Defense is not for the faint hearted. We want motivated, physically fit, and aspiring professionals. The bare minimum state standards are not good enough and should not be for you either. We will work together to mold you into a consummate security professional. 

Armed Security

To work as an Armed Security Officer for Broadsword Defense, you MUST pass our rigorous handgun qualification test regardless if you are qualified as a Commissioned Security Officer or are a current Texas Peace Officer.

**YOU MUST HAVE CURRENT POCKET CARD IN HAND**

Minimum Requirements

  • Pass background check
  • Pass a 7 panel drug test
  • Have own duty belt
  • Have own reliable weapon if commissioned (NO HI-POINTS)
  • Reliable transportation (i.e. car ) and a working smartphone
  • Good Work Ethics
  • Possess good moral character
  • Have a valid Driver’s License or Occupational License
  • A positive attitude

Physical Requirements

  • Environment: Indoor and outdoor, temperature ranges from moderate to extreme cold and heat
  • Major activity: Walking, standing, speaking, listening, observing
  • Physical efforts to carry out job duties: Standing, walking, and sitting. Minimal to no stooping or kneeling.
  • Must be able to lift and carry 50lbs
  • Must be in good physical shape

Other Requirements:

  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Must be able to speak english
  • Must be a U.S. citizen
  • Must not use illegal drugs. Must be able to pass a drug test with negative results (except when undergoing documented medical treatment).
  • Must submit to an extensive background check, including criminal history, personal references, employment and education verifications, and Department of Motor Vehicle and credit checks if applicable.
